FAQ

Q: Who are you and what is this?

A: My name's Mark and this is my movie review blog!

Q: What are your qualifications? What gives you the RIGHT?!

A: I have no qualifications whatsoever. But I watch a lot of movies, I like analyzing and talking about movies, and I think I have some pretty good thoughts!

Q: What made you decide to do this?

A: In 2019 I watched every movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I posted a mini-review to Facebook for each one. I enjoyed the experience so much that I decided to give myself another movie-watching project, and landed on the AFI's 100 Years...100 Thrills list. We're now in the midst of me going through that list, but I'll also make backdated blog posts for all the Marvel reviews too.

Q: What is this list that you speak of?

A: In 2001, the American Film Institute released their list of what they considered the 100 most thrilling American movies ever made. You can find the list here: 100 Years...100 Thrills

Q: What made you choose this list?

A: It seemed like as good a list as any! I wanted movies that I could expect to enjoy, and it has a fair number of movies I'd never seen before, which was another bonus.

Q: Anything else I should know about this list?

A: I'm not going to shy away from supplementing the list and adding movies if there are any that I think will pair nicely with the ones on the actual list. For example, the 1951 version of The Thing is included, but not John Carpenter's version from 1982, so I'll just watch them both!

Q: How often will you post reviews?

A: No set schedule yet, but I'm aiming for at least one per week.

Q: Can I get involved by commenting on posts, watching along with you, and suggesting more supplementary movies to add to the list?

A: I would insist upon it.

Q: Has anyone actually asked you any of these "frequently asked" questions or is this all a ruse?

A: This is a ruse and I apologize for betraying your trust, reader. Now, onto the movies!
